Habit / Habitat: Pompano are a shore fish, very abundant around sandy beaches, ends of Jetties, and passes . you'll find them in the surf right around breakers feeding in the guts between sand bars. | |||

to catch Pompano The best baits for Pompano are Sand fleas, Shrimp, Small fish, and small animals buried in the sand. Use a double drop Pompano rig. This rig consists of 2 drop loops with glow in the dark spaghetti beads, (color is up to you) above two 1/0 circle hooks. (hook type also up to you) followed by a weight. Try to fish the last 2 hours of the incoming tide and the first 2 hours of the outgoing.
